The Environmental Thematic Task Group and the Housing Thematic Task Group merged in May 2007 to form a new group The Environment and Housing Thematic Task Group.


The Environment and Housing Chair is Jenni French, Environment and Sustainability Manager, Ashfield District Council, and includes representatives from the following organisations:

• Increased levels of waste recycling, and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Encourage access to facilities and the movement of goods and people by sustainable modes of transport to reduce emissions.
• Create Sustainable Neighbourhoods where people choose to live and empower local people to take part in creating a better local environment.
• Encourage a local economy with minimum negative impact on the environment.
• Protect and enhance local biodiversity.
